Post Danmarks Julehilsner 1998 1998 har været et spændende år for RadioUnderholdningsOrkestret. Amerikas største succeskomponist George Gershwin ville være fyldt 100 år i 1998. Allerede i efteråret 1997 opførte RadioUnderholdningsOrkestret en hyldestkoncert i Cirkusbygningen med blandt andre Lars H.U.G. og Harolyn Blackwell og i sommeren '98 var Gershwins kompositioner en del af repertoiret ved årets Slotskoncerter på Ledreborg Slot og Frijsenborg Slot. Slotskoncerterne blev igen i år en succes, hvor publikum nød madkurven og et glas vin i det grønne til tonerne af landets mest populære orkester. En anden af RadioUnderholdningOrkestrets klassikere er Ønskekoncerterne, hvor publikum har mulighed for at indsende ønsker før koncerten. I år var det Povl Dissing og Eva Madsen, der sammen med Merete Sveistrup og Jesper Lundgaard tog hånd om ønskerne. Orkestrets alsidighed kom også til udtryk ved åbningen af Storebæltsbroen. Her spillede Orkestrets vindermelodien fra den fælles sangkonkurrence de havde udskrevet med A/S Storebælt. 'Godmorgen, lille land' blev sunget af Povl Dissing. Musik i Arbejdstøjet var i starten af 90'erne en populær udsendelsesrække på DR TV. Ideen var, at man placerede RadioUnderholdningsOrkestret midt i arbejdsdagen på en virksomhed. Fandt en række solister, som sang musikstykker valgt af medarbejderne på virksomheden. Musik i Arbejdstøjet blev genoptaget i 1998 og Fyns Postcenter dannede rammen om en af koncerterne. Det var en stor oplevelse for Post Danmarks medarbejdere at opleve et så stort orkester midt mellem breve og pakker.
